Frame Builder V2.6.1 Refreshed Installer and Re‑Release by NateLiquidGravity

Background:

It was recently brought to my attention that the previous installer was being flagged by some antivirus software during installation. I want to reassure everyone that I have no reason to believe any of my installers contained anything malicious. However, out of an abundance of caution – and to protect both users and my reputation – I have removed all older installers from the site.

I recommend that users delete any older installers they may have downloaded and run a full antivirus and anti‑malware scan on their systems, just to be safe.

The previous installer was created using the free tool InstallForge. It appears that some installers built with InstallForge may be flagged due to “guilt by association,” as malicious actors sometimes use the same tool. As a result, legitimate installers created with InstallForge can occasionally trigger false positives.

The new installer has been rebuilt using Inno Setup, a widely trusted and long‑established installation framework. This should help prevent similar false positives going forward.

Thank you for your understanding and for your continued trust.

Windows SmartScreen Warning

When you run the installer, Windows SmartScreen may display a message such as “Windows protected your PC.” This is a normal precaution for unsigned installers.

  1. Click More info to expand the details.
  2. You will see the publisher listed as Unknown Publisher.
  3. Click Run anyway to proceed.

Approving the UAC Prompt

Windows will show a User Account Control (UAC) prompt asking whether you want to allow the app to make changes to your device.

  • Click Yes to continue with the installation.

Updates/Fixes:

  • This is a Re-Release of the Frame Builder V2.6.1 with a new installer.

A few notes:

Frame Builder is not tested or integrated with Alibre PDM and will not be until such time that a public API is released for safely working with the PDM.

Because Frames made in V1.X do not store any of their creation information they are not directly compatible with many of the V2.X features.
V1.X Serial Keys are not valid for V2.X and can’t be installed side-by-side.
If you purchased V1.X Serial Keys there is a reduced price V2.X Upgrade Serial Key available.

Requirements:

Frame Builder Version 2.6.1 Release now only works on Alibre Design V27 (Builds 27030, 27038, 27039) and on Alibre Design V28 (Builds 28094, 28098, 28126, 28139, 28141, 28223, 28227).
It also requires Alibre Script Build 346613 or newer.

Instructions:

Download and run the “Frame Builder V2_6_1 Installer.exe” and progress through the setup to install into the Alibre Script Library folder.
Next (optionally) download and extract everything from the “Example Profile Library.zip” file where you want to keep the Profiles.
Then Launch Alibre Script in an Alibre Design Assembly and click on “Frame Builder V2_6_1 Release [Protected]” in the Alibre Script explorer folder “Frame Builder” to run it.
Check out the rest of the setup instructions by reading the help file by clicking the button “Help Info”.
Please read all the help file included before asking any questions – but don’t hesitate to ask if something isn’t working as expected.

Trial:

A Trial Version can be activated which will only allow creation of 5 parts at a time. After those 5 parts are created you will need to close and restart Frame Builder. Additionally during Update / Rebuild Members the Trial version will always “Confirm Each Change Prior”. I may at any time disable the Trial Serial Number from working. The Serial Number for the Trial Version is no longer needed. The program will install as the Trial Version by default.
